Harry Potter:  Southwark to the City

After visiting the film locations for the Leaky Cauldron and the Third Hand Bookshop which hosted Gilroy Lockhart's book signing (both in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban)  we admire a floating museum displaying the Gryffindor colours . See if you think this might be the inspiration for the Durmstrang ship in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

We see an infamous Muggle prison where prisoners were tortured and forgotten and compare that to the origins of Azkaban prison, once a place where Muggles were lured and tortured.

In a city surrounded by dragons, we discuss the importance of the several security breaches at Gringotts Bank and learn about the wizarding world's currency. How many galleons would a wand  cost?

Wind through the old streets of the City of London, will we find Diagon Alley?  We venture to the original Leaky Cauldron where Harry Potter ventures for the first  in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.

Fantastic Beats - Where to Find them in London

This tour takes in the historic centre of the City of London from the splendour of St Paul's Cathedral to the domineering Tower of London. Explore how these fantastic beasts are entwined in our Muggle world.

Can you tell the difference between Britain's native Hebridean and Common Welsh Green Dragon? More importantly where in London can you find one?

Griffins are fierce and employed by wizards to guard treasure. The two we encounter have become a status symbol for an aristocratic family. But why?

Where in London can you find a magnificent mythical, swan-sized bird with its wings outstretched. Why is he needed here?

Unicorns have no reason to hide in the city streets and prance proudly in the face of hungry lions.

What spell is required to protect winged horses or hippogriffs from Muggles? Could you handle a fire crab as a pet?

Pokemon Tour Reviews:

Okay, So being a VERY mature student and taking up Pokemon-Go ... I know, it's not everyone's cup of tea, however, I had a Blast! Hazel was very knowledgeable not only of her surroundings and the area and buildings of London around us, but she had some impressive facts and pointers to aide those beginning, and well immersed in the game. A very enjoyable 2 hours meeting and socialising with the tour crowd, they were a good bunch of people. The tour was suitable for everyone from 6/7 upwards, and I am sure the average age group was 42! I would definitely look out for any of Hazels tours and tag along.

This was great fun. A well planned tour, in which Hazel, the Guide gave everyone individual attention to help them get to grips with Pokemon Go. Would definitely recommend Hazel as an excellent, friendly and knowledgeable London guide.
