Dragons in the City of London

On this London walk we explore the city of London in search of these proud and yet elusive beasts. Although dragons occur in many legends around the world, different cultures have varying stories about monsters that have been grouped together under the dragon label. Some dragons are said to breathe fire or to be poisonous, such as in the Old English poem Beowulf. Which dragons will we find?

“Fun Dragon Walk on 31st October (afternoon)”
Our small party of three adults joined this friendly guided tour. Hazel was well researched about the fascinating history of dragons in the City of London and further afield. The group wasn't too big like other guided tours, which meant we could all hear our guide and keep together as we walked about. We liked how Hazel created a relaxed and sociable environment, whilst educating us about the history of dragons and pointing out new places we could visit another time. There is an option to go to the pub afterwards, which is a nice idea if a person has come on their own.

The guide, Hazel, was excellent. The walk was great fun, but also incredibly informative. I learnt a lot about my own city which surprised me, so a super experience for both locals and visitors alike. We were a quite a large group and in spite of that Hazel took the time to answer all questions any one asked. All in all top marks in all areas.
Murderers and Martyrs in Farringdon

This is a 60 minute guided walk filled with martyrs and murders, poltergeists, a 900 year old prison, grave robbers & executions. Learn where we get the phrase "pulling your leg!" and "one for the road".
Take in the sights of: Smithfield Market, St Barts Hospital, St Bart's Church, Cloth Fair, King Henry VIII's Gate, where Christian and Catholic martyrs were murdered in a variety of ways, a Watch House built to prevent body snatchers, the Old Bailey, a forgotten mass murderer and the last remaining Gin Palace in the City of London.
