LONDON RESTAURANTS THAT HAVE REOPENED What: Restaurants, pubs and bars in England have finally been permitted to open to dine-in customers. It's not just the food we've missed (some stellar new delivery options have kept London's foodies well fed), but the buzz of a night out, the escapism of being in an enchanting dining room, the quiet thrill of impeccable service and everything else the London hospitality industry does so well. What’s new: Things will look a bit different for a bit, of course. We now know what the social distancing and hygiene guidelines will be for hospitality venues – among them a new "one-metre plus" rule and the collection of contact details for NHS coronavirus tracking – and many of the capital's restaurants have spent recent weeks getting ready to reopen. The Ritz London The Ritz London’s most famous hotel has already reopened its Palm Court for afternoon tea, but will follow with its Michelin-starred restaurant on July 27. 150 Piccadilly, W1J 9BR, theritzlondon.com Dishoom The popular Indian restaurant group has opened all its London sites but Kensington, which follows on July 24. The Cinnamon Kitchen City Vivek Singh's The Cinnamon Club and The Cinnamon Kitchen Battersea are already open, and his in Devonshire Square restaurant follows on July 17. PUBS HAVE REOPENED! What & When: London pubs are reopening What’s new: The new rules mean that you have to either book ahead or give names and addresses for all party members when you rock up to the pub. Check with each individual establishment and your own cherished local before you head along to find out what the deal is. You can also expect table service, one-way systems and hand sanitiser in among those cool, crisp pints. Here’s some of our favourite London pubs that are now open: Mayflower, Rotherhithe Perhaps my favourite London riverside pubs. It’s special in several ways: 1. It was my local when I first moved to London nearly 20 years ago. 2. It’s atmospheric 3. It has a wooden deck at the back which probably has the best view of the river too.  It's full of history. The pub dates back to 1620  and was the original mooring point of The Pilgrim Fathers' Mayflower ship. It has ecclesiastical wooden pews, real ales, an open fire and a friendly hubbub of chatter. A real find of a pub. Great for ale and bangers and mash. Also has a great view of the Thames. Features wood panelling and uneven stone floors helping make it one of London’s most atmospheric old pubs. Indeed, it seems hardly to have changed since the days of dock workers and deckhands.
