Please join us in December to see the 2020 Advent Windows in Greenwich, which is now a beloved Christmas tradition and is in its 14th year. This year’s theme is “Near & Far.”
Every year St Alfege Church, in the heart of Greenwich, London, runs an “Advent Windows” event whereby the town centre is brought alive by 24 unique offerings in the lead up to Christmas.
Shops, homes, schools and pubs use their imagination and artistry to produce the living Advent Calendar. A newly decorated window will be revealed, or “opened”, on each day of Advent (1st to 24th December) in different parts of Greenwich. A variety of media will be used, including paper art, models, light installations and paintings.
Once all 24 Advent Windows have been opened, seeing all of them usually takes around 3 hours on foot. You can view a programme of the window locations, or read about the window openings after each event on our blog. A summary of the window openings for the current day can be found under “Today’s Window”.
