What: RAF’s Virtual Spitfire 10K Chocks away! Get ready for the Spitfire 10K! We are bringing the race day feeling to you in a new virtual experience. We are starting the Museum's Battle of Britain commemorations with our annual Spitfire 10K event, but in a slightly different format. To ensure the health and wellbeing of all those involved, Spitfire 10K is going virtual! Whether this is your first 10K race or you are regular at running races, you are invited to be part of this incredible event and challenge yourself whilst supporting the RAF Museum.  The virtual race allows you to tailor the racing experience to fit your schedule and ability. You can choose to start the race on race day at 10.00am for a real race experience; or run the entire distance at some point over the weekend. Whichever way you choose, we will be there to support and motivate you along the way. We have got an exciting programme of music, entertainment, stories and talks prepared for you. Want to join the race? Our Spitfire 10K at London and Cosford would have started at 10.00am on the 29 and 30 August. If you were planning to join us, why not run your own race? Start running at 10.00am and join others in a virtual race across the country.   Once you’ve completed your 10K, submit your times by midnight on Monday 31 August, you will appear on our leaderboard. This will give you the chance to win one of our trophies and prizes.   Looking for a challenge?  Running 10K not for you? Why not split the distance into a few runs; or maybe go on a long walk, row or a cycle. You have until 15 September, the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, to complete it. You will get an amazing medal at the end of your 10K.  For the whole family? Our Spitfire Family Run will also take place virtually this year. This 1K run is perfect for the younger ones but can also be completed by the whole family. Souvenir cotton Spitfire Family Run t-shirts are available in various children’s sizes when booking your ticket. You will receive the race pack with a medal, a certificate and the t-shirt (if purchased) in advance so you can complete it over the bank holiday weekend or when it suits you.  Cost: - Standard entry fee: £22.50*  - Discounted entry fee: £20.50* (Armed Forces Community (Veterans, Personnel and Cadets) will be asked to enter details to receive the discount)   - Family run entry fee: £10.00*  *A booking fee per ticket applies  Book here: https://bookitzone.com/martin_burke_1/W8jFFX Website: https://www.rafmuseum.org.uk/london/whats-going-on/events/virtual-spitfire-10k-2020/
