Enjoy Afternoon Tea on the BB Bakery Bus

We have the Victorian 7th Duchess of Bedford, Anna Russell to thank for the invention of Afternoon Tea. It was in 1840 when the Duchess found a tasty solution to the problem of being hungry at around 4pm, having to wait another four hours before dinner at 8pm; tea with bread and butter.

After inviting a few friends to join her afternoon tea had been established and the rest, as they say, is history! Today, afternoon tea includes dainty finger sandwiches, including the famous thinly sliced cucumber sandwich, followed by plain scone with jam and clotted cream followed by bite-sized cakes. All of this deliciousness is washed down by a pot of tea.

The BB Baker's Afternoon Tea bus enables you to take in the city’s most iconic landmark spots including The London Eye, Big Ben, The Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Marble Arch and more, all from the comfort of a vintage London 1960 Routemaster bus! The London sightseeing tour lasts approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes (depending on traffic).

The family-run French
BBBakery offers one of the best London's Afternoon Tea I have experienced in a long time. Not only was the quality of the food and service top notch but the experience and camaraderie onboard added to the fun.

See this short video of our experience:

The delectable BBBus menu includes:

- a savoury cake

-savoury cake with ham

-cucumber and mint finger sandwich

-salmon blinis with cream cheese

-chicken sandwich with tomato bread

-vegetable quiche

-raspberry and coconut cream tart

-lemon tart

-mini chocolate cupcake

-pistachio macaroons

-vanilla choux

-scones with clotted cream and jam
